Nuraghe Palmavera
Ancient ruins dating back to the 14th and 15th century BC. These Bronze Age and Iron Age settlements were almost entirely destroyed hundreds of years ago, but the foundations of many structures still remain, which can be viewed by visitors today.
Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju
One of Sardinia’s most important archeological sites, this necropolis contains 38 underground tombs, which date back to at least 4000 BC. The site was first discovered in 1903 and has been crucial to understanding Neolithic civilization. Open daily to visitors.
Torre di Sulis / de l'Esperò Reial
The historic walls surrounding the town of Alghero aren’t just pretty to look out, they also teach us about the city’s past. The tallest wall, Torre di Sulis, stretches 22 meters. Walk along the waterfront perimeter and try to imagine what the town was like hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
