Soak up the sun at Sardinia’s most famous attraction: the beach. Choose from secluded, quiet stretches of sand or vibrant, social beach scenes.
San Giovanni Beach: As the closest beach to AlMar Apartments, this one is just a few minutes’ walk from our front door. The shallow water is great for kids, and the sand is the perfect place to relax and admire the turquoise sea.
Lazzaretto Beach: Just a 15-minute drive from AlMar Apartments, this beach is one of the Alghero area’s most famous. Expect some crowds during the summer, but the spacious sand has room for everybody. Chair and umbrella rentals are available, and the beach is lined with cafes, restaurants, and bars, so you can easily spend all day there.
Mugoni Beach: On the edge of the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte, this beach is possibly the most beautiful in the area. Make the scenic 20-minute drive to this tranquil oasis and feel as if you’ve been whisked to tropical paradise. Since this beach is situated within Porto Conte Bay, the water is calm, and fragrant pine and eucalyptus trees line the beach.
Le Bombarde Beach: Likely the area’s most well-known beach, Le Bombarde is famous for a reason. The sparkling water is crystal-clear in shallow areas and a stunning shade of turquoise from afar. At Le Bombarde, all of the beach amenities are available, from restaurants to watersports rentals and tours, including scuba diving and windsurfing.
Stintino beach: La Pelosa beach in Stintino, perhaps the most famous beach in all of northern Sardinia, is an hour's drive from Alghero. La Pelosa is visited every year by thousands of tourists, fascinated by the white sand and the clear sea. La Pelosa owes its particular name to the presence of numerous tufts of posidonia.
